Psychotherapy in English

Welcome

I offer psychotherapy for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts or behaviours, relationship difficulties, addiction, and other psychological difficulties.

In therapy, I focus on the difficulties and needs that are most relevant at the time. Together, we work towards a better understanding of the underlying patterns and develop practical ways of creating change and coping with difficulties in everyday life.

A particular focus of my work is psychotherapy for people experiencing problems related to alcohol or other substance use. Addiction does not have to be the main focus of therapy. Treatment can equally focus on depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or other psychological concerns.

psychotherapy

I provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for adults. Treatment is tailored to each person’s individual situation, needs, and therapeutic goals.

Within the German statutory health insurance system (gesetzliche Krankenversicherung), I am able to provide psychotherapy for people experiencing substance-use problemsFbwh. The addiction itself does not have to be the primary focus of treatment.

other services

In addition to classical psychotherapy, I also offer online therapy, psychological assessment (e.g. ADHD) and psychological consultations.

costs and insurance

For people covered by German statutory health insurance who are experiencing substance-use problems, psychotherapy can be billed directly to statutory health insurance. In this case, there are no additional treatment costs.

Private health insurance will often cover psychotherapy in full or in part, depending on the individual insurance plan. It is advisable to check the conditions with the insurance provider before starting treatment.

Psychotherapy can also be paid for privately. In this case, approval from an insurance provider is not required. Fees are discussed transparently before treatment begins.

LGBTQIA+ friendly practice

My practice offers a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ and queer people. Therapy can include topics related to identity, relationships and sexuality, as well as any other psychological concerns.

I am a licensed psychological psychotherapist specialising in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

My clinical work focuses on the treatment of adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, relationship difficulties, and addiction.

A particular focus of my work is psychotherapy for people experiencing substance-use problems and behavioural addictions. My background in both clinical practice and addiction research allows me to integrate current scientific knowledge with an individual and practical approach to therapy.

Addiction does not necessarily have to be the main reason for seeking psychotherapy. Treatment is guided by the difficulties, needs, and goals that are most relevant to each individual person.

Alongside my clinical work, I am involved in university teaching and research in psychology and psychotherapy.
